Tlio Papatoetoo Town Board met this week, tlio chairman, Mr. T. K. Sinytheuian, presiding. , Good progress in connection with Papatoetoe's water supply scheme was reported. A quantity of pipes for reticulation purposes had arrived and tlio board hoped to commence the work during tho present month. After the laying of tlio rising main from tlie well to t lie reservoir tests would he carried out.
The board decided to preparo conditions under Svhich applications would bo received from property owners for connection with the water service as it available. It was anticipated that about appliestions hTbeen R if was decided to donate £2l to• the earthquake relief fund. Mr. Smytheman said arrangements had been made for an entertainment in aid of ho fund to bo given in tho Town Hall and Ccntial Theatre. Tho town clerk reported that the debit balance in the general fund for the past quarter was £2423.
