CONFERENCE OF DELEGATES

FIRST AUCKLAND MEETING.

Tho first conference of representatives of chambers of commerce in the Auckland Province will be held at the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to-day and to-morrow. Tho president of the Auckland Chamber, Mr. H. T. Merritt, will preside. Remits submitted by the Auckland, Te Awamutu, Eden, Coromandel, Opotiki, Okaihau and Papakura chambers will be considered. There are 17 motions on the order paper, covering a wide range of subjects.

Delegates will visit industrial establishments in tho city this morning, the conference being opened in tho afternoon. A theatre party has been arranged for (he evening. To-morrow morning the delegates will be motored to places of interest iri the city, lunching later at the Chamber of Commerce. An address 011 "The Crown in Business" will be given by Mr. R. L. Ziirian at the luncheon. The conference will be continued in the afternoon.
