His solicitors paid tho train fares of all tho owners interostpd in this area and oventually had them gathered in a street in Wanganui. , Tliero wero ovor fifty and they commenced signing about mid-day. It took three days to got all the signatures and in the end three men had to stand guard to keep tho party from straggling too far.
