MAWSON'S EXPEDITION.

SAILING OF DISCOVERY. DEPARTURE IN AUGUST. LONDON, May 27. The British Government will hand over tho oxploration ship Discovery ,to - Sir Douglas Mawson, who is in charge of the projected Antarctic expedition, on July 1, and she will sail on August 1, cpaling atSt. Vincent, and arriving at Capetown at the end of October. The Discovery will not reach Australia until the first season's work in the Antarctic has been completed. She will have a crow of 23 officers and men, and (lie scientific staff will probably number 12.
