THE DENTAL CLINICS.
CASE OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS. MINISTER AND ORANGE LODGE. Disagreement with views expressed by the Loyal Orange Lodge at its recent con: ference in Wellington has been recorded by the Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education. The Minister was recently advised by the lodge that a resolution had been passed affirming the principle of State education as at present conducted and objecting to any extension of privileges to private schools. In a reply noting the purport of the resolution, the Minister, according to a statement in Auckland yesterday, has made the point clear that he is not in accord with the view that the extension of the dental clinic system should not ba made to denominational schools. It was not reasonable to expect parents of children attending other than State schools to bo debarred from amenities in the way of dental servico supplied by the State. Such parents wero taxpayers, and it was not fair that they should not bo allowed the privileges the Stato provided.
