NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME
[from our own correspondent.] LONDON, April 25. Mr. E. L. McKinstry, Mount Eden, who is making his first visit to London after 70 years' residence in New Zealand, proposes to spend about nine months on holiday. He will make a tour of the battlefields and visit the grave of his son. : Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Speedy, of Remuera, who arrived by the Otranto a fortnight ago, propose spending about five months in Great Britain, afterwards returning to New Zealand by way of Canada. The Rev. and Mrs. Noel F. E. Robertshawe (late of Epsom) arrived on April 20 by the Maloja. Mr. Roberishawe hopes to be able to take up parish work' in England for some years. Before settling down, however, he intends to visit France and the battlefields. He was chaplain to the Imperial Forces during the war. The Earl and Countess of Liverpool, who have been touring in New.Zealand, have returned to their home, Hartsholme Hall, Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Verncn (Mount Eden) have had an interesting tour in the East. From Australia tliey crossed to Java and visited Sourabaya, Samarang and Batavia. Then from Singapore they travelled 100 miles inland to Batu Anaiu, in the native state of Johore, to stay with relatives on a rubber plantation. On their return to Rangoon they travelled through the most beautiful scenery of the peninsula, known as the "Pearl of tbo East." Several days were spent in Calcutta, when they left for Kalimpong, a little mountain village in the Himalayas. Agra, Bombay, Madras and Colombo wcr°? other places' visited. Mr. and Mrs. \ ernon will tour parts of England during the next few months.^"
