PASSENGERS' LUCKY ESCAPE.

DRIVER CUT BY FLYING GLASS

Tho four occupants of a sedan motorcar which struck a telegraph post on the New North Road at an early hour yesterday morning had a narrow escape from serious injury. Tho driver received minor injuries but the car was practically wrecked.

Tho accident occurred near tho boundary* between Mount Albert and Avondale. The car, which was being driven toward Avondale, was proceeding along a length of road which is at present under repair, and went info an excavation on the road. It then slewed across tho road and struck tho post with con siderablo force, being overturned by tho impact. The vehicle was hired from a city garage The passengers escaped unhurt, but tho driver, Mr. Louis Locke, of Mount Albort, was cut by flying glass.
