ACCIDENT IN QUARRY.

MAN STRUCK BY STONIE. GRAVE INJURIES INFLICTED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI, Wednesday. A workman in the Public Works quarry at Tauraroa, near Whangarei, William Graf, sustained severe injuries to the head as the result of an accident this afternoon. While he was working in front of the face of the quarry a piece of stone of considerable size fell on him, with the result that he received a double fracture of the skull. The injured man was admitted to the Whangarei Hospital at 7 p.m. in a deeply unconscious condition. An operation was immediately performed and a depressed portion of the skull raised, but the patient's condition is still very critical.
