STOCKS AND SHARES.
THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. MARKET REMAINS FIRM, Sales on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday indicated the continued strength of the sharemarket. Offers for local body debentures and Government securities were strongly sustained, with few responses from holders. Wellington City debentures, 1932, s>jj per cent., were done at par. There was a hardening tone in Inscribed Stocks. Now Zealand Breweries debentures sold 7d dearer at 275. In banks Commercials of Australia improved a shade with a sale at 30s 2d, with more wanted at 30s Id,, sellers 30s 3d. New South Wales changed hands three times at £52, the current price. More were available at the figure, buyers 5s Ir>wer. New Zealands scld twice 3d dearer at 62s 3d, with closing inquiry at that level, sellers 62s 6d. In insurance New Zealands were again done at 475, at which sellers offered more. In coal there was an accommodation movement in Renowns, buyers advancing from 15s 6d to 16s 9d, and sellers declining 3d to 17s 3d. In gas Aucklands again had salo at 24s 3d. In the miscellaneous section Colonhl Sugars were done 2s 6d dearer at £SB 12s 6d. The preference issue of Electrolytic Zincs was unchanged with a sale at 37s 3d and Wilsons Cements wore 3d easier, changing hands at 425. In mining Mount Lyells had sale twice at 44s 3d, the current price. YESTERDAY'S SALES.
