PERMIT OVERSTAYED.

CHINESE FINED £25. On a charge of overstaying his temporary permit to remain in New Zealand, Fong lloong, aged 28, was fined £25 in Hie Police Court yesterday. Default was fixed at a month's imprisonment. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Ilunt, also mado a deportation order. The Chinese interpreter said Fong Iloong had not sufficient money, so would have to go to prison. The Magistrate: All right, take him to gaol. He will not be thore long before he finds someone has raised the money, (Laughter.).
