MT. WELLINGTON AFFAIRS.

COST OF BOUNDARY ROAD. FINDING OF COMMISSION. Tho first meeting of the newly-elected Mount Wellington Road Board was held last evening. Mr. George Kay was reelected chairman. The Under-Secretary of Public Works forwarded the finding of the commission which, under Mr. F. 11. Levi en, S.M., investigated the Portage Road dispute in the latter part of last year. The dispute was between the Otahuhu Borough Council and the Mount Wellington Road Board and concerned the allocation of costs for the construction and maintenance of Portage Road, which is a boundary road between the two districts. The commission's finding was that the road is to be controlled by the Otahuhu Borough Council. Otahuhu will pay two-thirds and Mount Wellington one-third of the cost of construction and maintenance. Each body will pay its own share of the costs of the commission.
