SUDDEN FATAL ILLNESS

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WAIPUKURAU. Monday.

A serious loss has been sustained by Mr. George E. Merriken, sheepfarmer, at Hatuma, near Waipukurau. After treating over 90 stud Southdown rams with medicino Mr. Merriken turned tho rams into a paddock of green oats. The feed almost immediately set up scour in the flock, with tho result that 90 rams died. Apart from tho loss of the stud at 'this season of the year, the owner estimates tho financial loss at over £9OO.
