GRAMMAR SCHOOL BOARD.

MT. ALBERT ACCOMMODATION PRIZES AND SCHOLARSHIPS. The Auckland Grammar School Board met on Wednesday, tho chairman, Professor A. P. W. Thomas, presiding. It being the first meeting of the new financial year, Professor Thomas was reelected chairman and Dr. E. Roberton deputy-chairman. Tho chairman reported that accommodation at. tho School House of tho Mount Albert Grammar School was fully taxed. There were boys waiting to enrol as soon as vacancies occurred, and the need of additional dormitory space was made more urgent by tho fact that it would not be wise to keep tho same numbers of boys in one dormitory in the winter as in the summer. It was decided to write to tho Minister of Education stating that until further accommodation was available the board would have to refuse applications for enrolment. It was decided to lease a brick building in Federal Street to tho Rev. Jasper Calder's Auckland City Mission and to ask leave of tho Minister of Education to remit tho rent. On the chairman's recommendation tho following Williamson Scholarships were awarded:—Auckland Grammar School: M. Robinson, E. 11. Sealy, J. H. Clark, J. W. Adams, 0. R. J. Sinclair, W. H. McDonald, E. G. Baker. Mount Albert Grammar School: T. G. Moorcraft, P. J. Ness, R. C. Guildford. Auckland Girls' Grammar School: G, E. Hewson, J. Hunter, N. P. Jacombs, E. G. Burns.
