FINANCE FOR FARMERS.
RURAL CREDITS SYSTEM. LIMIT EXTENDED BY BOARD. « [BY TKLEGHAI'IT. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. The success of tho rural credits scheme was indicated nt the last meeting of the Rural Intermediate Credits Board, when it, was reported that associations are to bo formed at Gorge Road, in Southland, and Whungarei. Tho latter has been prompted by the success of the neighbouring Northern Wairoa Association. In order to increase the usefulness of this method of financing, tho board has authorised the limit of tho amount, available for any individual farmer by the discounting of his promissory notes to bo increased from £IOO to £2OO. The board has also agreed to grant loans through co-operative, associations to their members upon tho security of promissory notes duly endorsed by companies, firms, or individuals whoso financial position is approved by the board. The prospect of a strong demand for financial assistance was indicated in the commissioner's reports, a number of leading dairy companies in various districts having definitely informed local officers of tho board of their intention to extend still further assistance to their suppliers to obtain advances from tho board.
