THE AUCKLAND CLUB, PRESIDENT HOLES OUT IN ONE. Members of the Auckland Golf Club played a four-hall, best-hall bogey competition at Middlemore on Saturday, GS players taking part. Rain fell throughout the day and made conditions unpleasant for players. The bright spot of tho afternoon was the fact that during his round the president of tho club, Mr. M. M. THE GLENDOWIE CLUB. The Glendowio Golf Club opened its season on Saturday with a mixed foursome medal handicap. In spite of tho ram there was a large attendance of members, and tho eourso and greens were in excellent, order. The handicap was won by Mrs. Hill and F. Trice. Dr. Buckley, with tho best round, returned the second best net score--75 5 70 The links have greatly improved as' a result of the week's rain, the fnirwavs being in excellent condition. Judicious burning of tho rough has made the playing and finding of balls much easier.
