SPORTS FIXTURES.

RAIN CAUSES POSTPONEMENT. Heavy rain during the-week-end' interfered with tlio many sports fixtures, and several postponements were caused. No bowling fixtures were played on Saturday, and although football clubs had arranged practices, only a few players in most instances made an appearance at the various grounds allotted. Yachting and rowing fixtures were proceeded with, and golf clubs were able to carry out the programmes arranged except in one or two cases. The motor-cycle, sports set down for decision at Mangcre were postponed for a fortnight, but the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club held an 11 miles novice and a 17 miles senior handicap. At North Shore tlie Y.M.C.A. Association Football Club played friendly matches against the local club. In a Rugby match Auckland Training College defeated Whangarei High School Old Coys by 21 points to 3.
