SOUTHERN CROSS LOCATED.
FOUR MEN ON MUD FLAT. FOOD DROPPED FROM THE AIR. CANBERRA'S QUEST SUCCEEDS The welcome news that tho Southern Cross airmen had been found on tho wc/st coast of Western Australia by Captain Les Holden in the air liner Canberra was received in Auckland yesterday afternoon. Later newt, stated that all four of the fliers, who had been lost since Sunday, March 31, were well. The position where the men and their machine have been located is about 40 miles south of tho Port George IV. mission station. They are on a mud flat, and have plenty of water as a creek runs near them. Captain Holden dropped food to the party and afterwards left them to return to Wyndham. Before doing so lie wirelessed that lie could see all the members of the crew of the monoplane. The news was received in Australia amid remarkable scenes of rejoicing. The relatives of the airmen have received a sheaf of congratulatory messages from all quarters. They had never despaired of the safety of the four fliers.
