AUCKLAND GIRL'S SUCCESS, A bursary at the .Slade School of Art, London, has been won by Miss Jocelyn Mays, late of Devonport, during her first half-year at the school. This may be regarded as an outstanding achievement, as the recipients of bursaries are usually, students of three or four years' standing. Miss Mays was a pupil of the Elam School of Art, Auckland, and commenced her course at the Slade School last September. There are at present five former pupils of the Elam School of Art attending the Royal College of Art. London, one of whom, Mr. James Boswell, was awarded a scholarship last year.
