"THE MANGERE SPEEDWAY
TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTION
The recent rain has put the finishing touches to tlie Mangerc speedway, and the track should be consolidated for fast racing to-morrow. A number of soft patches prevented the most being made of the speed of the competitors at the meeting last month, but the surface is now in very good condition. The numerous entries will necessitate heats in several events, and there should be no slack periods in the programme. The motorcyclists provided spectacular competition at their first appearance on the speedway and the experience on the dirt track should stand some of them in good stead to-morrow.
A series of aerial "stunts" will be given by Captain M. C. McGregor, D.F.C., pilot for the Hamilton Airways Company. Captain McGregor's war experience will be remembered by many fighting pilots. To facilitate the easy movement of the crowd, 10 entrances to the speedway have been provided and there, should be no trouble with traffic congestion. Omnibuses will run from the city, and vehicles will also meet trains at Mangere Crossing.
The meeting has been organised by the Muriwni Racing Club, the inaugural meeting having been conducted by the Auckland Automobile Racing Club.
