IMPROVED FROZEN PORK.
The figu res in the last returns show |hat the import of frozen pork from New Zealand is rapidly assuming a position of importance. When J was last at Smithfield market, some two months ago, says « commentator in the Farmer and Stockbreeder. i saw a great many of these frozen carcases which were mostly Berkshires and Berkshire crosses. They did n °t strike mo as being well-finished porkers, but I am told they are, improving with every consignment, and, know,ng the man who is responsible for tho organisation of the pig industry in New Zealand, I shonld say they will continue jo do so It should not be forgotten by horne producers that, not only does the Nei.v Zealand Government carry all the cost of the organisation of this business, but it. also pays a direct subsidy •° 'he farmer for every carcaso exported.
