TRANSPORT.

Sir, —I notice that a member of the Transport Board (Mr. Morton) has announced his intention of opprsing tha projected loan. This is surely an unparalleled position for a member to take up. Surely if we expect to get adequate results from the newly-formed board money must be found to provide the necessary rolling stock. , I trust that the people will not be side-tracked by such destructive and incomprehensible tactics on the part of Mr. Morton or anybody else, who would seek to hold back lonr* overdue development of our transport system. The old saying: "You cannot make bricks without straw," surely ap. plies here. Vigilant.
