A DAY'S WORK WITH THE PLOUGH
Sir, —In your issue of Wednesday I noticed a letter signed "Strawberry Ploughman," where he says that lie ploughed 60 acres at the rate of over two acres per day with a single-furrow plough. J have also read what Mr. Earle Vaile had to say. Now, I consider myself a first-class ploughman, and arn prepared to donate £25 to any charitable institution if either Mr. E. Vaile or "Strawberry" ,can show me where two aires are being ploughed with a single-furrow or four acres with a double-furrow plough, not one day's work, but one week's ploughing of eight hours per day, and do not care what horses they may use. whether they are light-, medium draught horses or horses as big as elephants, as they use in England. A. E. pHirrs. Norton Road, Frankton Junction.
