HARBOUR BOARD SEAT.
SUPPORT FOR MR. MACKENZIE
A meeting to further the candidature of Mr. H. R. Mackenzie for the Auckland Harbour Board was held at Otahuhu last evening. Mr. Thomas Clement, deputymayor, presided over a largo gathering. .Air. Mackenzie gave a brief outline of his past, services and his knowledge gained on a world tour. The following committee was set, up to further his candidature:— Mr. J. K. Gillies, chairman, Mr. G. V. Pcarce, secretary, and Messrs. T. Clement, .1. Nicholson, S. Davies, >T. S. do Montalk. J. Wilson, A. R. Townley, L. H. Townley, W. Morris, W. T. Baker, J. Somcrs, W. Wells and D. Carson. A resolution stating that those present would use their utmost endeavours to ensure the, return of Mr. Mackenzie to the Harbour Board was carried unanimously.
