BRITISH PARTY'S DECISION.
PRECIPITATE VOTE TAKEN.

After heated arguments the conference of (ho Independent Labour Party decided, by 161 votes to 125, that Labour members of (ho House of Commons must oppose war credits. Mr. E. Shinwell, member for Linlithow, said: "The decision means that if the Labour Party comes into power wo would oppose all war and Air Force credits. I would take instructions from my constituents, but not from this conference."
Thero was much discussion afterwards on tho embarrassing effects of the decision on the elections, and regret was expressed that it had been passed so precipitately.
