FIVE RECORDS BROKEN. KAYE DON AT BROOKLANDS. Australian Press Association —United Service LONDON, March 27. The racing motorist, Kayc Don, driving the four-litre 12 cylinder super-charged Sunbeam car in which ho drove the fastest lap at Brooklands to day, broke five records. He covered five kilometres at a speed of 150.44 miles an hour; five miles in 130.28 miles an hour; ten kilometres in 130.16 miles an hour; 10 miles at 130.006 miles an hour; and 50 kilometres at 123.26 miles an hour.
Ivavo Don holds more track records than any other driver in Europe. His new records nro all improvements on his own international 3000-5000 c.c. records created with his Sunbeam last year. The five-mile record of 130.28 miles an hour is eight miles an hour better than that established in 1928 and tho 10-mile record is an improvement of over nino miles an hour. Don holds among other records the following 2000-3000 c.c. honours :—], mile, 121 miles an hour; 5 miles, 12l£ miles an hour; 50 miles, 110.9 miles an hour. These records were all established on Brooklands track last year with a Bugntti. In the 1500-2000 c.c. class Don holds the international records of miles an hour for 100 miles and 116J miles an hour for one hour. Iri tho cycle-car. 350-500 c.c. class, Don holds tlio international record of 62} miles an hour for 100 miles. He has also lapped Brooklands track faster th.m any other driver in (ho world, his speed for tho 23-mile circuit being 131J miles an hour. In this test ho used a Sunbeam. Last August Don won tho Ulster 410-milo tourist trophy race with a Lea Francis. It was announced a fortnight ago that Don hoped to make an attempt next year to eclipse Major Segravo's speed of 231 1-3 miles an hour for tlio flying mile.
