TEACHER RETIRES.

THIRTY YEARS' SERVICE, After .30 years' service in the employ of tho Auckland Education Board, Miss McDonald, who has taught at the Birkenhead school for the past seven years, has retired on superannuation. Prior to the Easter vacation Miss McDonald was presented with a travelling rug and suitcase on behalf of tho Birkenhead School Committee, teachers, and pupils. Mr. A. Hadfield, deputy-mayor, and Mr. A. G. Menzies, headmaster, conveyed the best wishes of the residents, staff and children, and referred to tho high esteem-in which Miss McDonald .was held by/all.
