AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON GAME FOR SPEIGHT TROPHY. The annual inter-collegiate match for tlio Speight Trophy, between Auckland University and Victoria College, "Wellington, was commenced at Eden Park yesterday afternoon. "Owing to rain a late start was in a fie and a new wicket had to !>o prepared. After iust over two hours' play the local team scored 101 for the loss of three wickets. Garrard played a bright innings for 41 before losing his wicket in attempting to hook a hall which kept low. .7. McDougall was also going well until he was splendidly thrown out in running a single.
