SUPERIORITY TO FOREIGN.
REPORT TO POWER BOARD

The Mar.awatu-Orua Power Board at its meeting to-day decided to accept a tender for 500 time switches of British manufacture, at a cost of £3222 18s 4d. There were 11 tenders.
The board's engineer reported on the switch, chosen as follows:—It is only rarely in tenders for electrical equipment that we find that the British article has such outstanding points of superiority over foreign competitors, but in the case of these time switches I am satisfied that the British firm has put much care, thought and experience into the design with the result that point for point, i" design of clock contacts, operating e%cl "' and motor, the British switch 'as jQ foreign article beaten on cveiy • P Ll .'' ' Although the price of the British artic o is higher than Swiss or German ill (his instance, the points of superiority are great that when viewed over a period of years for reliability and low maintenance costs the British article is an easy winner.
