The fir?t annual meeting of ( the Tuakatx District Sheep Dog Trial Club was held in the Tiakau Town Hall last evening. The retiring president, Mr. E. Muir. prs» sided cvsr 30 members. In hid report for tha past year the president stated that the inauguration ot tha club had been most happily justified. Th-s trials had proved most successful and th* position in which the club found itself was very gratifying. The membership stood at 242, The financial statement showed * credit balance of £9B. The following tjfficera were elected.:— President, Mr. O. McCuichan; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. D. Maioney and E. 'W. Friedlander; secretary, Mr. J. Lockhart,;. assistant secretary and treasurer, Mr. D. Mv"Alpine; cominittee, Messrs. EL Brown, I!. McAlpme,. 3. "Walter, J. Caswell, J. Watson, Y» r . A. H. Murray, R. Paulserr, G. Clark, L. Canton, M. Mackey and J. Slatert ground marshal;' Mr. H. R. Lacy; dog steward. Mr. J. Caswell; sheep steward, Mr. A. Bartz. In recognition of his services in founding the club Mr. McAlpine was elected * life member. It was decided to hold the next- trials crt April -24. '25 and 2G, on Mr. E. W. Fnedlander'a grounds at Tuakau.
