WORK FOR CRIPPLES.

Sir,—Would you allow me a small space for an appeal to the employers of labour for work lor cripples. There are many men in Auckland and elsewhere who cannot get a chance to earn a living to keep their wives and families in comfort. For men of this class to go to relief works is no good. I gave it a good go, so am speaking from experience. When employers are approached for light work they say they can get plenty of ablebodied men. When I was on the relief works 12 months ago a man with one arm was sent in the same draft as myself. He was given a pick and shovel and put on the road the same as the rest. It was hard for him, seeing that so many able-bodied men are employed by the Public Works as timekeepers and storemen. It behoves the United Government to do something to help some of us slong so that we may get a sympathetic hearing from local employers. Cripple Orr Ok Work.
