Sir,— I warned tl.o Marine Department some tim i ago, through your correspondence columns, that unless the Maui Pomare's evil spirits wero driven from the Maori god's named vessel, that evil would follow her in all her voyages. She has never had one lucky trip. Sir Maui {'omiire, get your tohunga to work with karakias and ancient rites, or. the Maui Pomare's potato's cooked. W. Blomfield.
