OPEN WAREHOUSE.
HART'S NEW BUILDING. PREMISES IN HIGH STREET. A lease for an extended term of the premises in High Street lately occupied by L. D. Nathan, Limited, has been.acquired by Hart Brothers. Limited. The present premises of Hart Brothers, Limited. Elliott Street, will be vacated within six months, and the new premises in High Street will lie opened. The new premises have a frontage of 72ft. and a depth of 90ft., there being nine storeys in all. The building will be remodelled, £20,000 will be, spent m converting it into an open warehouse. It is stated every success has all ended the present open warehouse in Elliott Street, and the principal, Mr. B. Hart, is confident the new premises, which are, close to the business centre of ihe city, will mean increased business.
Plans for the remodelling of tin- existing building have been completed by the architect, Mr. 1?.. B. Young. U is expected the building, when completer), will be the most, up-to-date warehouse in Australia or New Zealand. An imposing entrance will bo one of the main features. The basement will be devoted to a mailorder department,. The entire building will be made into, ai modern, open warehouse. Pending and writing rooms for the public will bo provided. There will be a cash-and-carry grocery department on the fourth floor, while a modern tea-room will occupy the seventh floor. The work of rcmodellinc will tie commenced as soon as possible. Passenger lifts will be installed, and it is expected these will not arrive from England for four, or five months
