BLACKBERRY MONTH.
Blackberry and Damson Jam.—6lb. blackberries. 21b. damsons, 61b. sugar. Put the fruit, after washing thom well, and draining, into a pan with a small teacupful water, and cook very slowly until the stones drop from the damsons. Then rub the fruit through a coarse seive, put tho pulp into tho pan and bring to the boil, and add warmed sugar. "When this has dissolved bring to the boil, and boil for 15 to 20 minutes, when it should set. _ This is a nice jam, and free from pips which so many people object to.
