NEW SWIMMING BATHS.

PROGRESS AT PUKEMIRO.

OPENING CEREMONY TO-DAY,

HUNTLY, Friday

The Pukemiro swimming baths will be officially opened to-morrow, when the ceremony will be performed by. Mr. Andrew Burt, manager of the Pukemiro Collieries, and a gala will bo held. Mr. W. Lee Martin, M.P. for Raglan, will also be present. Tho baths aro the result of the efforts of a number of enthusiasts in the township of Pukemiro, who organised the campaign and collected by public subscription practically £2OO. Great assistance was given by Mr. Burt and the Pukemiro Collieries provided the labour for forming the baths gratis. The baths aro situated in the bed of a creek handy to both Pukemiro and tho mining settlement of Glenafton. Solid rock was blasted in this creek and tho baths are 100 ft. long, with a depth from 2ft. to 6ft 6in. and 21ft. wide.
