HAMILTON WATERWORKS.
PROPOSAL FOR EXTENSION. APPROVAL AT FRANKTON. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Thursday. The proposed loan for extended waterworks in the Hamilton borough was discussed before a meeting of the Frankton Ratepayers and Citizens' Association last evening.
The Mayor of Hamilton, Mr. J. R. Fow, stated that tho council was disappointed with the present system, and thought the strongest argument in favour of tho proposed scheme was the unqualified support given it by the Loans Board. Since tho inception in Hamilton of the sewerago and storm water drainage schemes tho death rate in the Hamilton borough had fallen from one of the highest in New Zealand to one of the lowest. At the conclusion of the discussion the following motion was carried: "That the Hamilton waterworks proposal has the hearty approval of tho Frankton Ratepayers and Citizens' Association in its entirety."-
