Section Ties.—The play-off of the tie in section B between Kerr (Masterton) and Truscott (Carlton) resulted in a win for Kerr by 22 to 20 It was a fine iramo to watch. The play-off in section C between Ramsey (Dominion Road) and Frost (Carlton) resulted in a win for Frost. The winners of sections A and C. Bell (Hamilton) and F ro«t (Carlton) nlav off to-morrow to qualify for the semi-final, the winner to play Letham (Ponsonby). In the other semi-final Harrison (Sydney) plays Kerr (Masterton).

The Whangarei Bowling Club last evening held the fourth carnival under electric light this season. Three pairs went through undefeated. The trophies were won by Miller and Wilding, 41 points, Staple and Cliff, 3(>. and G. Harrison and R. Harrison, 32. The results werd as follows : First Round.—McDonald and Ward beat West-and Jonneaux. 11') 2: R. and G. Harrison beat Telfer and Gallagher, 13—10: Wood and Holloway beat McKinnon and England, 9—7; Kent and Wilson tied with Osborne and Courtney, 7—7; Deverill and Birch beat G, McKay and Curtis, 10—7; Cliff and Staple beat Evans and H.
