NORTH SHORE TRANSPORT.
Sir,—Mr. Guiniven claims that hundieds of people have left Takapuna since the trams ceased running. He knows as well as 1 do that the buses are carrying double the numbers ever carried by tho trams, with much moro comfort, and much faster. The fact that tho Education Department has been forced to extend the school accommodation proves him in error. Many of the outer suburbs served by trams and trains have obvious signs of depopulation in some cases to the extent of their schools losing grading. His statement about fares having been doubled and trebled is only a wild assertion. Should the Transport Board give the public of Auckland the same efficient service as tho people of Takapuna enjoy to-day they will havo gone a long way toward solving this very important question/ £ Advance Takapuna. 1
