ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE.
THISTLE CLUB'S AFFILIATION.
The breach in Association football circ»es in Auckland was officially closed when, the Thistle Club made application for affiliation to the Auckland Football Association at ft special meeting of the Management Committee on Tuesday evening. The nomination of the club was accepted, subject to the approval of the New Zealand Council. The dispute, which occurred over . the suspension of Kay. o, member of the Thistla Club, in the earlv part of last season.- led to a breakaway from the parent body and the formation of a new association under the name of the Auckland City and Suburban Football Association. Four clubs were formed, but with the leading clubs. Celtic and Thistle, now seeking affiliation • with the Auckland Football Association! there is little doubt that the attempt to establish a rival association will be abandoned. . .
