ASSAULT WITH SPURS.
CROAT PLEADS GUILTY.
A pair of spurs figured in a charge of assault, causing actual bodily harm, to which Ivan Sokolic, a Croat, pleaded guilty in the Supremo Court yesterday. Two other charges connected with the same incident were thereupon withdrawn bv the Crown.
The assault occurred at Pacroa on November 26, when Joseph Brenan was b't on the head with a pair of spurs while going home through the Domain. Mr. Singer, for tlio accused, asked that the case should stand over for the making of certain inquiries. Sokolic alleged that Brenan, to speak colloquially, had been " slinging off" at him from time to time, although the Crown denied that. Mr. Justice Blair: He must have been labouring under some impression. Mr. Singer: It is more a matter for the Crown to look into, I think. Mr. Hubble undertook to arrange a medical examination, whereupon His Honor remanded the. accused for sentence, no dato being fixed.
