MR. J. G. ELIOTT HONOURED.

Mr. J. G. Eliott, formerly M.P. for Oroua, received a public presentation of a purse of sovereigns last evening. The Mayor presided over a largo gathering. The guests included Sir George Hunter, Mr. J. A. Nash, Mr. G. Linklater, Mr. J. Dickie, M.P.'s, and Mr. F. J. Rolleston. The presentation was made by Sir Gcorgo Huutor, who praised Mr. Eliott for his services to the farming community, especially mentioning the Fertiliser Bill.
