PRIMARY SCHOOLS SPORTS.
HAURAKI PLAINS MEETING.

Matters in connection with the Hauraki Plains primary schools athletic championship sports meeting are progressing steadily. Representatives of the Kaihere, Kopuarahi, Netherton, Pipiroa, Turua and Ngatea schools met at Ngatea recently and drew up a programme of twenty events. It was decided to advance the date of tho meeting from February 14 to March 8. A letter was received from the Mangatarata School Committee offering to donate a medal and a similar offer was received from Mrs. Benny, of Kaihere.
Members reported that as a result of the canvass for donations over £4O had been secured toward the prize fund. The secretary, Mr. C. S. Foster, was instructed to obtain quotations for 54 suitable medals.
A meeting will be held at Ngatea on Tuesday to explain tlie project and seek tho co-operation of district settlers. A ■working bee will bo arranged to prepare the section opposite the. hall for a racetrack and picnic ground.
