CAPTAIN CAMPBELL'S EFFORT. SOUTH AFRICAN ADVENTURE. (Deceived December 23, 6.5 p.m.) United Service. LONDON, Dec. 22. The Daily Mail says that Captain Malcolm Campbell has selected Vernak Pan, 450 miles from Capetown, for his attempt to establish a world motor speed record. 11 contains a large area of sun-baked clay, which gives a clear run of 20 miles. Captain Campbell Kays: "If I am successful it will be my last/ attempt. I am getting 100 old for such adventures. If I fail 1 shall probably continue until I regain the record."
