CITY POLICE STATION.

THIRD STOREY TO BE BUILT*

Additions to the central police station, Auckland, for which provision has been made in the Estimates regularly for several years, aro to bo carried out shortly. Tije Public Works Department is calling tenders for the erection of a. third storey on tho main building at the corner of O'ltorko and Princes Street, and work is expected to be started early in the new vcar.

Extra sleeping accommodation for the members of the force will be provided in the now storey, and the cooking establishment is also to be removed to the top floor. Tho general scheme of rearrangement will mean that the men's quarters will be made more exclusive and will he modernised, and much-needed extra accommodation will be available on th® lower floors.
