I SENT A NOTE TO SANTA.
By BKTTY MOLESWOUTJI. Olaki (ago 13). 1 bent a note to Santa, but that was'when I was ciglit, I posted it in the letter-box that stands outside our gate. It was a trusting little letter, and this is how it ran—"Dear Santa, please forgive mc, for 1 know you're a busy man.
But Christmas Day is coming, and you II have so much to do, So 1 hope this list will be handy that I'm sending you, It will save you heaps of worry to know just what to bring, And just in case you need it, here s a label and some string.
This is the list dear Santa, I think I've remembered all, [ would like a dollv. and Colin a cricket ball; Now .Ann has often told me she'd love a cookery book, And Frank would be wildly happy with a fishing lino and hook Daddy would like an ash tray, and mother a. writing pud, So, if you.'ll bring those Santa, 1 II be most awfully glad.''
I addressed the letter proudly, in the ageold childish way—"To Santa Clans, at Lapland," and waited for Christmas Day I shall never forget that Christinas—each year it is born anew, And T live again in memory, those days when dreams came true.' ,
