CHRISTMAS SERVICES.
Christmas music was sung in practically all Auckland churches last evening. In St. Mary's Cathedral there were carols, followed by a special organ recital Carols wore also sung in St. Matthew's and St Paul's Churches and the Beresford Street Congregational Church Portions of "The Messiah" wore rendered in the Baptist Tabernacle. Iho Pitt Street Methodist Church, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and the Church of Christ, West .Street To-morrow there will be numerous services, from early morning onward, in all Anglican and Roman Catholic churches. The pageant, "The Nativity," will be presented a second time in the. evening in S:. Paul's Chin ch. Morning services will also be held ill the Baptist Tabernacle and Si. David's Presbyterian Church tin Boxing Day. which is St. Stephen's Day in (hi! Church calendar, the Holy Communion will be celebrated at half past ten in the restored St. Stephen's Chapel, Taurarua (Judge's Bay). This service was inaugurated a year ago. after I lie renovation of this historic building, m which the constitution of the Church of the. Province of New Zealand was drawn up in the year 1857.
