RIFLE SHOOTING.
CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB. Tho City and Suburbs Rifle Club fired the third round in tho second trophy series over ranges of 500 yds. and 600 yds. The wind, although strong, was fairly steady, but visibility was poor, the bright light on the targets with no dark background causing many points to bo dropped in elevation. Under the conditions H. J. Vcrrall shot well for his 90, which won him the grade A spoon. G. P. Birks won tho grade B spoon after a keen, competition, Results are as follows: — Grado A—H. J. AKARANA DEFENCE CLUB. There was a largo attendance of members at Penrose rifle range when the Akarana Defence Bifle Club fired the third round of its second trophy series for trophies presented by Sir F. Lang, Mr. A. E. Hushes and Mr. A. G. Devore, over the ranges of 500 yds and 600 yds. At 600 yds the light was very trying and made sighting difficult. The three top men in each section take 3, 2 and 1 points.
