The Mount Eden Amateur Swimming Club held its first carnival of the season at itie Mount Eden baths last evening. 1 here was a disappointing attendance of spectuloi'B. Chief interest centred in championship, which resulted in n_ fijio vvui for D Plank. Ho also accounted for. the 220 yds. open handicap in good timo. IMP 100 yds. Auckland lady champion, Miss IJ. Ma gee, scored an impressive victory in the 100 yds. ladies' handicap. Results are as followit: —* Junior Girls' Handicap. 60yds.—Miss Nichol, 1; Misses M. Sadler. ss, and H. Plank took the lead from the start and at the end of the nrst lap touched a yard ahead of tho other two contestants, who were on equal terms. A varied and attractive programme of swimming, diving and novelty events has been arranged for the Waitemata Amateur Swimming Club's opening carnival of the season to be held at # tho lepid Baths this evening.
