DISEASES AMONG COWS.

CLOSE WATCH BEING KEPT. ASSURANCE BY DR. REAKES. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] MORRINSVILLE, Friday. A deputation of three dairy factory directors, Messrs. A. Anderson (Cambridge), W. Darrall (Tatuanui) and J. E. Leeson (Morrinsville) and Mr. F. Lye, for Waikato, waited upon Dr. C. 1 Reakes, director of agriculture, in-Well-ington and expressed concern at tho loss occasioned in tho Waikato by diseases among cows. Dr. Reakes said the position was being watched closely. A Government veterinarian, Mr. C. V Dayus, had been detailed to the Waikato to study these diseases and the director himself proposed to visit tho district shortly. The department's leaflet on mammitis was to be brought up to date with tho latest available information and copies would shortly be sent out to dairy companies for distribution to suppliers.
