NATIONAL PARK HOSTEL. SUPPLIES NOT IMPORTED. [Bi* TELEGRAM. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] TIMARU, Wednesday. Tho architect for the hostel at Tongariro National Park, Mr. Herbert Hall, replied to-day to a telegraphed statement that considerable quantities of American timber are to be uj;ed in the hostel.
Mr. Hull said the statement was wholly inaccurate. At present only tho workmen's huts were being hurriedly erected, in timo for use by Christmas picnickers. A small quantity of Oregon was on the site because local material was not available in time. No material had yet been ordered for tho main building. A special clause was inserted in tho specifications, nt the instance of tho Prime Minister, stipulating that a featuro must bo made of New Zealand timber in the j. est el.
