SURVIVORS FROM GALE.
EIGHTY GERMANS SAFE.
QUARTERS AT PLYMOUTH. RESCUED BY LIFE-LINE. (Received November 28, 5.13 p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY, Nov. 27. The 80 members of the crew of tlio German mercantile marine training ship, Pommem, which was wrecked in the recent gale, reached Plymouth yesterday on board the German tug Ileros All had been saved, including 64 cadets, by a life line.
The Pommern's boats were smashed. The cables between the tug and the barque soveral times parted. Beforo leaving tho Pommern all tho crew were assembled on deck and told to put on their best clothes, fasten their lockers and leave their quarters neat and tidy. Each man was then carried from 100 yds. to 300 yds. along tho life-line, which broke in tho process. The rescued cadets and crow were given hot baths. Accommodation was found for them at Plymouth, and they will leave on Thursday by a liner for Bremen.
